This was a gift, I own St Croix rods myself and have been extremely satisfied.
Solid rod with good action. I like the cork grip and pairs nice with Shimano 1000-2500 reels. Good all around rod for most freshwater species. Not a huge difference from the Premier series but I’m still a Premier series fan for quality/price. The Triumph was less expensive than the Premier; however, not much difference performance wise.

Purchased this rod and the tip snapped like a twig during the first outing. I didn't even bother with warranty because I know it will happen again. I had alot higher expectations for the st croix name. The rod was definitely fun to fish with but the tip needs alot of improvement for better durability. It's not a matter of if it will break, but it's more so when it will break. Definitely proceed with caution before purchasing the triumph.
