Professional/Personal Highlights: "Avid" is how Steve's wife would describe his devotion to the sport of fly fishing. Becoming a Federation of Fly Fishers Certified Casting Instructor has expanded his skills and opened doors to gaining knowledge as well as exposure to many facets of the sport. Spending their winters in southeast Georgia, and now in the Smokey Mountain area of North Carolina as well as traveling throughout the United States, allows him to fish year round in both fresh and saltwater. Steve thoroughly enjoys teaching others the enjoyment and challenging, yet rewarding Zen-like sport. In addition to teaching and demonstrating, Steve builds custom landing nets, fly fishes from a kayak, enjoys fly tying and is on or in the water one hundred days a year. Let's see; a hundred days to fish, another hundred to tie flies and yet another hundred to make landing nets. That leaves just sixty-five days to chit-chat with the local citizenry and take the dog to the vet. So be it.
