Professional/Personal Highlights: The name, "Yukon Jack," brings to mind a grizzled recluse. In this case, WRONG! This Yukon Jack enjoys nothing more than working with youngsters and novices of any age and gender. He was presented the W.A.M.L.E. (Wisconsin Association for Middle Level Education) Award in November of 2007 by the Middle School in his community. Yukon had coordinated the Guides For Grades Program for ten years. In 2007, one hundred and seventy-seven students improved their grades to qualify for participation in the program, which consists of randomly selected students spending time with a professional guide who donates his/her time. Students not selected receive fishing tips from guides and handouts provided by program sponsors. As a published writer and organizer of the Guides for Grades Program, Yukon Jack likes to pass on what it is he knows about fishing. In our eyes it isn't only the students that deserve high grades.
