Professional/Personal Highlights: Rich has published several books: Fly-Fishing the Rocky Mountain Backcountry (Stackpole Books, 1999), No Hatch to Match (Stackpole Books, 2001) and Active Nymphing Strategies (Stackpole Books, 2006). Magazines to which he has contributed are: Fly-Fishing & Tying Journal, Fly Tyer, American Angler, Midwest Fly-Fishing and Outdoor Life. Rich personally ties and markets his special fly patterns directly to anglers around the country. Not only does he pound Wisconsin waters, Rich has spent considerable time fly-fishing the Rockies. He uses the E904.4 with dry flies and nymphs on western rivers. The Elite EFW864.4 is his favorite for small streams while the U905.4 gets the nod for fishing with trout streamers. But when Rich is working a lake, such as for smallmouth bass, he reaches for an Ultra U908.4. While Rich's first love is fly-fishing trout, he doesn't shy from chasing bass, walleye, pike and lake trout with a fly rod. An author, a speaker, a guide and a well-traveled angler. Ah, the good life.
