Date: 2009-01-23
Location: Red River
Rod: PIR32M
Lure: Jumbo Emerald Shiner

Walleye are known in the area as GREENBACKS, for visually obvious reasons. This horse was caught by my dad on the legendary red river near Selkirk, Manitoba. A thin red line came on the Marcum a couple feet off bottom in 22 f.o.w., and with a quick lift of the rod tip it quadrupled in thickness and the fish deepthroated the jig and shiner. This is the ultimate big walleye rod!!! It should have GREENBACKER incribed on the blank!
